&. In the Edo period, born in a poor family, Sayaka was sold to become a common yūjo (遊女, lit. ‘woman of pleasure’). She took on the pseudonym Saiko to protect her dignity.&. She was able to become a highest-ranking oiran, known as tayū.&. She prayed to Oni Tayū, who whispered in her dream the secret of immortality. At the end of every three decades, she has to bathe in human blood.&. Resides in a Shinto shrine.

Appearance:
Realistically speaking Sayaka cannot put on her full oiran dress up by herself nowadays. In the modern days she doesn’t wear fancy yukatas, but simpler patterns, lots of darker tones, and two teeth ‘Geta’ sandals; in contrast to the three teeth ones she was wearing as an Oiran and the fancy colorful yukatas. Sayaka walks around with her obi tied elegantly, though loosely, in the front of her yukata/kimono (depending on the season). This is a habit since she was a tayū; It was so that clients receiving favor from the courtesan could undo the kimono.The tayū hair updo is complicated and elaborate. So, she usually catches them loosely, in order not to get tangled, and spends hours taking care of her dark silky knee-length hair. She even makes her own herbal treatments.Scent:
Jasmine. Is her favorite fragrance, along with citrus blossoms. She usually wears a mixture of the two in the spring-summer seasons while in winter she prefers a combination of jasmine with sandalwood. Incense is usually burning in the Shinto and the scent of burned tobacco is dancing around her when she smokes her kiseru.Now that we’re talking about scents, there is an inner garden in the Shinto she is residing and she takes care of it… or she makes the oni and yokai that live around the area or visitors who stay longer than they plan, ( time spent with Sayaka passes slowly and leisurely as there are no physical changes on her. On her left hip downwards to her top thigh ending in the inner side of her thigh, she has a hebi (snake) wrapped around a sakura ( cherry blossom ) branch.The hebi / snake symbolizes rebirth, transformation, and the continual renewal of life.
The sakura/cherry blossom, bloom and then wither usually in the space of 14 days. They are symbolic of the short, yet sweet time we spend on Earth. It holds great meaning for her and she did it when she managed to achieve immortality.Hobbies:
